Description
The ViPrimePLUS Vibrio qPCR Kit is a Taqman probe-based real-time PCR assay for the detection of all Vibrio species genomes in food or water samples.
Vibrio (all species) is a Gram negative, comma-shaped bacterium that is commonly found in marine environment as most of the species are halophilic. There are at least 12 human pathogenic species naturally occur in tropical and the 3 commonly known foodborne pathogen are V. cholera, V. parahaemolyticus and V. vulnificus. Infections with the former 2 species will cause gastrointestinal disease while V. vulnificus can cause septicemia. V. cholerae can be introduced to the freshwater via fecal contamination. Therefore, routine screening is important to ensure safe water supply.
ViPrimePLUS Vibrio qPCR Kit is intended for research use only.
