Description
The ViPrimePLUS Pseudomonas aeruginosa qPCR Kit is a Taqman probe-based real-time PCR assay for the detection of the Pseudomonas aeruginosa genomes in clinical samples (e.g. blood, cerebrospinal fluid and respiratory samples) and food or water samples.
Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a Gram negative, opportunistic human pathogen and plant pathogen. The microorganism is characterized by its pigment production ability, such as pyocyanin (blue-green), fluorescein (yellow-green and fluorescent, now also known as pyoverdin) and pyorubin (red-brown), and its fruity odor in culture. Infection with P. aeruginosa in immunocompromised patients causes pneumonia, central nervous and urinary tract infections, and bacteremia. It is responsible for about 10% of all hospital acquired infection, making it an important nosocomial pathogen. Transmission of the infection is by ingesting contaminated food and water, or via direct contact with infected patients.
ViPrimePLUS Pseudomonas aeruginosa qPCR Kit is intended for research use only.
