Description: Mouse monoclonal (MEM-111) antibody to CD54.
Specificity: The antibody MEM-111 reacts with CD54 (ICAM-1), a 85-110 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein (receptor for rhinovirus). The expression of CD54 is upregulated by activation; it is expressed on activated endothelial cells, T lymphocytes, B lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages, granulocytes and dendritic cells.

Function: ICAM proteins are ligands for the leukocyte adhesion protein LFA-1 (integrin alpha-L/beta-2). During leukocyte trans-endothelial migration, ICAM1 engagement promotes the assembly of endothelial apical cups through ARHGEF26/SGEF and RHOG activation (By similarity).
Sequence Similarities: Belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. ICAM family.
Post-Translational Modification: Monoubiquitinated, which is promoted by MARCH9 and leads to endocytosis.
