Description: Rabbit polyclonal antibody to FAM120A
Specificity: This antibody will not cross-reacti with FAM120B / PGCC1.

Immunogen: Raised against an 18 amino acid peptide from near the center of human FAM120A.

Formulation: Supplied in PBS containing 0.02% sodium azide.
Storage: Can be stored at -20?C, stable for one year. As with all antibodies care should be taken to avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles. Antibodies should not be exposed to prolonged high temperatures.
Function: Critical component of the oxidative stress-induced survival signaling. Activates src family kinases and acts as a scaffolding protein enabling src family kinases to phosphorylate and activate PI3-kinase. Binds RNA and promotes the secretion of IGF-II (By similarity). May participate in mRNA transport in the cytoplasm.
Tissue Specificity: Present in Purkinje cells in the cerebellum, and in cortical neurons (at protein level).
Sequence Similarities: Belongs to the constitutive coactivator of PPAR-gamma family.
Post-Translational Modification: Arg-980 is dimethylated, probably to asymmetric dimethylarginine.
Cellular Location: Cytoplasm. Cell membrane.

Translocates to plasma membrane upon ultraviolet exposure.
